Unlike risk and originality, virtuosity is elusive, supremely elusive. There is a compelling tendency among novices developing any skill or art, whether learning to play the violin, write poetry, or compete in gymnastics, to quickly move past the fundamentals and on to more elaborate, more sophisticated movements, skills, or techniques. We offer open gym access for members-only to pursue virtuosity by working on their strengths and weaknesses outside of class. Every day at CFS we program extra work for our athletes, and we encourage all to stay late or come in early to do work on improving their fitness. Open gym is also a great way to make up a class that you may have missed!
We program every Thursday and Sunday at CFS as Open Gym, but our members can also come any time that we’re open to work on a weakness, practice the lifts, or make up a missed day. Open Gym is not a time to come in to do some crazy workout you saw someone do on Instagram. We train with a purpose at CFS. If you need guidance, please don’t hesitate to ask! Make sure you install the SugarWOD app to your phone to access the programming for CrossFit, Sweatshop, Barbell Club, Gymnastics, and Rowing.
