I have a love/hate relationship with the snatch…also, yay burpees!

Double unders and snatches
What sports/health background do you have if any?
High school sports, distance running
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?
I started to get myself in shape for a Spartan Beast race and haven’t stopped since!
Do you remember your first time doing CrossFit, how did it go?
I almost passed out from Prowler Pulls and gashed my leg on a missed box jump within my first couple weeks…it was a rough start
What changes have you seen since starting at CrossFit South?
The biggest change I’ve seen has been the way I look at fitness: I’ve stopped counting calories and stopped looking at the number on the scale and have started thinking more about how I feel. Now, as long as I’m putting 100% into WODs, eating clean, and getting rest, I feel pretty amazing.
Any advice for new people starting or contemplating CrossFit?
Stick with it. The best advice I got when I first started: “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” It’s good for you!
Hobbies/interest outside of a WOD?
Eat, sleep, CrossFit. Just kidding. I do love to cook, and try new foods. I read a lot. Good movies and music. And Yoga and anything that gets me outdoors.
Favorite cheat meal?
What do you want to accomplish by this time next month? In 3 months? Before the end of the year?
PR in deadlifts…it’s been a while. Do more WODs Rx’d, and of course: a muscle up!
What type of music do you like to WOD to?
The screamy stuff doesn’t do it for me…anything with a beat please!
