When did you first start CrossFitting?
I first started CrossFitting in January 2013.

I started training at CrossFit South in January 2013.

Favorite WOD or movements?
My favorite WOD/movement would have to be anything that includes finding my 1 Rep Max. I love being pushed until my body physically can’t lift anymore. Also, it’s cool to see how much I improve overtime when I look back at the board and see my old 1 Rep Max.

Least favorite WOD or movements?
My least favorite WOD was the CrossFit Open Workout 13.3. It included 150 Wall Balls….. no

What sports/health background do you have?
I have been playing volleyball for 8 years (year round), and before that I played softball for 7 years.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?
I was exposed to CrossFit by talking about it with my friends, Haley Huskins and Dan McCabe.

Do you remember the first time doing CrossFit? How did it go?
Yep… I remember! It was way too early in the morning, but I was determined to start. Keras told me to go run outside in the dark by myself. I looked at him like he was crazy so he came with : )

What changes have you seen since starting at CrossFit South?
I have seen a tremendous change in my ability to lift heavier weights, along with a physical change in my physical body appearance. I am stronger both physically and mentally and now believe that I can finish WODs that I didn’t think I ever could.

Any advice for new people starting or contemplating CrossFit?
My main piece of advice is that you can do it and you will see an improvement. Also, pick the heavy weights. Don’t be content with the baby weights.

Hobbies/Interests outside of a WOD?
Outside of CrossFit I enjoy playing volleyball, raising future guide dogs, and working with children.

Favorite cheat meal?
Well…. I cheat every day… But if I had to pick, it would be chocolate peanut butter ice cream.

What do you want to accomplish by this time next month? In 3 months? Before the end of the year?
The list of things that I want to accomplish before the end of the year (whether they occur within the next month, 3, or whatever) include: successfully completing a set of double unders, successfully completing a set of toes to bar, front squatting my body weight, and seeing an improvement in my 1 RM in a deadlift, clean and jerk, and thruster : )

What type of music do you like to WOD to?
I WOULD like to listen to some old rock music : ) But the “rap” keeps me going.
